Every document is reviewed by our team before you are approved to drive. It is the same list for every driver on the platform, which is what riders are told when they open the app.

Share your trip

Send a link to anyone you trust. They follow the whole journey in any browser, no app needed, and the link expires when the trip ends.

Check the plate first

The driver's photo, car and number plate are on your screen before you get in, so you can confirm you have the right vehicle.

Nobody sees your number

Rider and driver message each other inside the app. Neither ever sees the other's phone number, and chat is deleted when the trip ends.

Block, both ways

Riders and drivers can both block someone they would rather not be matched with again.

Documents checked

Licence, VID certificate, insurance and vehicle registration are all checked before a driver takes a single trip.

Where does RYDA operate?

Harare. Bulawayo and Mutare follow.

Is the price I am shown really the price I pay?

Yes. Your fare is fixed when you book, calculated on real road distance and time, and it does not change during the trip. Each tier also has a minimum fare, so a very short trip is charged that minimum rather than less. RYDA Go's minimum is $2.00.

How do I pay?

Cash to the driver at the end of the trip. Mobile money and card payments are being added.

What if I cancel?

Cancelling is free for the first two minutes after a driver accepts. After that a $2.00 cancellation fee applies, because a driver has already started coming to you.

What do I need to drive with RYDA?

A valid driver's licence, a VID certificate, vehicle insurance, vehicle registration and a photo of yourself. All five are checked before your first trip.

What does RYDA take?

9% of the fare. On a cash trip you keep the money at the end of the ride and the commission comes out of your RYDA wallet, so you are never waiting to be paid.
